De website van Steve Trussel, waarvan ik eerder melding maakte bij het bericht over Georges Simenon, blijkt ook een interessante verzameling te bevatten over postzegels waarop detectives, schrijvers van detectiveverhalen en acteurs die filmrollen in dat genre spelen, worden afgebeeld.
Topical (thematic) postage stamp collecting is the hobby of trying to identify and accumulate philatelic items related to a single “theme”. (Another example can be seen on my pages about Chess on Stamps.)
“Detective Fiction on Stamps” is a relatively small topic, but over two dozen countries have issued postage stamps (and other philatelic items) connected to or commemorating fictional detectives, their creators or cinematic portrayals.
In veel gevallen worden naast de postzegels ook eerste-dag enveloppen en ander materiaal besproken.
