Liyuan Library – rustpunt in de natuur…
So instead of adding a new building inside the village center, we chose this particular site in the nearby mountains, a pleasant five minute walk from the village center. In doing so we could provide a setting of clear thoughts when one consciously takes the effort to head for the reading room.

update 16 oktober 2014 – Het ontwerp van de Chinese architect Li Xiadong voor een bibliotheek in het heuvellandschap van Jiaojiehe is onderscheiden met de Moriyama RAIC International Prize. De prijs wordt uitgereikt door de Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) en de RAIC Foundation. Het bestaat uit een geldbedrag van ruim 70.000 euro en een kristallen sculptuur gemaakt door Wei Yew.
